Yeah! Let's go on working on a different style again!
The last "Logan" picture was done by having a lot of different layers that use the Layer blending options. The only times I used "Normal" blending mode were for the base colours and things like edge shine and line art that should be seen over the picture, etc. Here is the
original PSD file, shrunk down to the gallery's picture size (the full-size version was deleted by accident), if you're interested.
I still think that Opencanvas style --mostly composed of Normal layers-- received more positive views from others. Ever since I got the Jason Chan illustration video from
Massive Black yesterday night, I thought that if I wanted to draw something that looks painterly, I'd have to use different brushes rather than different layer types. The PSD file that came with the video was very, very interesting and intimidating.
When it comes to hand-drawing, I'm always going to stick to Crosshatching or pencil-crayon colouring; that's settled for me.
Though I'd still like to hear what you think I'm best at.
